Italy’s anti-drug education initiative has gone beyond more than one million informational booklets distributed in just one month. The initiative forms part of the drug awareness programme known as “The Truth About Drugs”, which aims to provide clear information about commonly abused substances and their impact on health and society.
Approximately five hundred volunteers are participating in the outreach effort, distributing materials in public spaces, shops and community areas. The campaign focuses on prevention through education, providing resources designed to explain the dangers of drugs in a clear way.
The prevention effort is part of wider social programmes supported by the Church of Scientology, inspired by the work of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
